Vice President Mike Pence is due in Wheeling on Thursday, July 26, 2018, and his transport will likely be one of the aircraft in the VIP fleet of the U.S. Air Force. We’ll look at the Presidents and their airplanes. We’ll see the most secret spy plane in the Air Force now retired. What happens if you're driving down the street and there’s a train coming right at you on tracks in the middle of the street? Lots of people have a Christmas train layout but one area resident had a real railroad essentially in his yard. A popular children’s Christmas book comes to life each year near here — The Polar Express is nearby. Dale Rothert joins us once again to take us on another adventure in transportation!

Dale Rothert came to the Wheeling area in 1967 to start a news-talk format in radio. He worked in local radio for 18 years. While working in Hamilton and Fairfield, OH, he was awarded the top Small Market spot news report in Ohio by the Associated Press. Dale left radio to join the US Postal Service as a clerk, working his way up to Postmaster over a 21-year second career and retired in 2006. He holds a Commercial Pilot’s License and advanced Flight and Ground Instructor ratings and served as an FAA Designated Pilot Examiner and giving flight tests to new pilot applicants. He taught aviation ground school at several local colleges and schools in their adult education programs. He has been interested in photography and all types of transportation since childhood.
