The Ohio River Flood of 1996 in Wheeling

 Date: January 21  High water mark: 46.1 | 10.1 feet over flood stage   

When the river crested at 10.1 feet over flood stage on January 21, 1996, nearly 1,100 homes on Wheeling Island were under six feet of water temporarily displacing about 3,000 residents.
