Wm. Mitchell & Son  |  Red Front Livery

Wm. Mitchell & Son were the proprietors of the Red Front Livery located at 44 14th Street in Wheeling. Mitchell & Son was a boarding and sale stable and also offered carriage taxi services (see advertisement below).

Wm. Mitchell & Son can be seen in this 1892 photo of French's Tavern from the W.C. Brown Collection. French's Tavern is the large building on the corner of Chapline and 14th Streets. Mitchell & Son is the next building looking down 14th Street.

Ohio County Public Library

The Ohio County Public Library serves all persons who live in the Northern Panhandle of West Virginia, which includes Hancock, Brooke, Ohio, Marshall, Wetzel and Tyler counties. Residents in Jefferson, Belmont and Monroe counties of Ohio and Washington, Greene and Allegheny counties of Pennsylvania may also receive library services. 

Monday - Thursday: 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.

Friday: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Saturday: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Sunday: 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.
