Our good friend Ryan Stanton will present our second-ever completely online Lunch With Books, Tuesday, April 21, at noon. Join from the safety of your own home computer or phone for a timely and fascinating Facebook LIVESTREAM presentation.
In his presentation, "Ohio County Sanitariums," Ryan will discuss sanitariums in Ohio County, including the Schmulbach mansion, its use as a tuberculosis sanitarium, and how the property has changed over the years.
SPEAKER BIO: Ryan is a 2002 graduate of Wheeling Park High School. In 2006 he graduated from West Liberty State College with a bachelor’s degree in history and later earned a master’s degree in social studies education from West Virginia University. For ten years, Ryan has been a social studies teacher at Wheeling Park High School where he teaches AP U.S. government and politics and the history of Wheeling. Stanton is a 2011 West Virginia History Hero recipient.
