OCPL PRESS RELEASE - MARCH 13 2020:

Dear Library Friends and Cardholders,

The Ohio County Public Library (OCPL) is closely monitoring information about the Coronavirus (COVID-19). The health and safety of our patrons and staff is a top priority. At this point in time, the Library’s main concern is keeping our patrons and staff safe. This is a rapidly changing situation and the Library will continue to provide updates on how we are supporting community safety while continuing to provide services.

EXTRA SAFETY MEASURES NOW IN PLACE:

While the OCPL is open and operating under normal hours, we are implementing the following measures, effective immediately, to help safeguard the health and safety of our patrons, staff, and community:

PROGRAMMING:

MEETING ROOMS:

TAX ASSISTANCE:

CIVIL SERVICE TESTING:

The situation with the Coronavirus (COVID-19) is evolving daily. We will continue to keep you informed of changes to our services. We encourage you to frequently check for updates via our website, our smartphone app (OCPL Connect – available on iPhones and Android devices), and our Facebook page.

If you are not feeling well, please stay home and do not visit the library. We invite everyone to explore everything we have to offer on our website, www.ohiocountylibrary.org. The Ohio County Public Library offers remote access to resources for all ages 24/7, including e-books, audiobooks, magazines, video (including movies, TV, concerts, lectures, etc.), music, and streaming tutorials. If there are e-books or audiobooks that are not available through our online services, we encourage you to call the Library (304-232-0244) to request titles, and we will do our best to add them to our online collections.

All of the above mentioned measures will be implemented until further notice.

WHAT YOU CAN DO:

It's important that everyone take action to slow the spread. This will help relieve pressure on medical resources and health care providers.

We encourage the public to stay informed about COVID-19 by referring to credible sources of information, such as the National Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Prevention's website. And remember that one of the best ways to prevent the spread of viral illness is to limit contact and practice good health hygiene as recommended by the CDC:
