Lunch With Books: Slave Stories of Wheeling
February 09, 2016
12:00pm - 12:00pm
From the city’s foundation to the Civil War, slaves walked the streets of Wheeling. There was a slave auction block on 10th Street, and the Underground Railroad was active locally. To begin Black History Month, historian Margaret Brennan will share vignettes, discovered over many years of research, about the enslaved in Wheeling.
Wheeling’s Pitts sisters will provide musical interludes.
