A JAPANESE TEA PARTY.

A Pleasant Social and Concert by the A. M. E. Church People.

A "Mikado Tea" and concert was given at the Capitol rink last night for the benefit fo the A. M. E. Church. The attendance was satisfactory, both while and colored people turning out in good numbers. Some fine costumes were worn, and the affair was highly enjoyable, not only for the audience, but as well for those who contributed to the entertainment. The following pleasing programme was very creditably rendered: Opening by full chorus, "Star of my Life;" duett, "See-Saw" by Florence Bell and Henry Norris; solo "Strangers Yet," by Mrs. Willie Mason; trio, "Three Little Maids from School," Misses Edith Kane, Belle Jackson and Jessie Johnson; piano solo, "Tulip" by Miss Ada Lewis; solo, "Blue A[ ] Mountain," by Mr. John I. Minor; solo "Call me Back Again," by Mrs. James Lightfoot; duet, "Only a Pansy Blossom," by John I. Minor and Houston Davis; solo, "The Flowers that Bloom in the Spring," by Miss Florence Bell.

The entertainment will be repeated at the same place this evening. It should have a large audience. The low price — 25 cents for grown persons and 10 cents for children — and the fact that the funds are for the benefit of the church, with the attractions of the programme, may be expected to fill the rink with people tonight.
