The Wheeling Room

Inside the Wheeling Room stacks

The Ohio County Public Library houses a substantial collection of material related to Wheeling's rich history. Local and regional history books and magazines, city directories, cemetery indexes, yearbooks, families histories, and more grace the shelves of the Wheeling Room.

Materials the Wheeling Room are available to be viewed by the general public. The Wheeling Room is kept locked at all times and patrons must request access at the reference desk. Notebooks, laptops, tablets and other recording materials are permitted, but all backpacks, bags, purses and other carrying cases must be locked in a secure room by the reference staff.

Ohio County Public Library

The Ohio County Public Library serves all persons who live in the Northern Panhandle of West Virginia, which includes Hancock, Brooke, Ohio, Marshall, Wetzel and Tyler counties. Residents in Jefferson, Belmont and Monroe counties of Ohio and Washington, Greene and Allegheny counties of Pennsylvania may also receive library services. 

Monday - Thursday: 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.

Friday: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Saturday: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Sunday: 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.
