Join local writers Christina Fisanick and Laura Jackson Roberts for a bit of lighthearted literary levity at Lunch with Books on June 3. Christina and Laura will share original works, none of which will address pandemics, politics, or polemics. We swear.
Instead, consider the white-tailed deer as she munches through your garden or the June bat that dive bombs your head. Consider the Roomba as the answer to all of your marital woes. Ponder the process of wheeling a stainless steel gas grill down Edgington Lane and hefting it onto a back deck with your cantankerous spouse.
We can't make quarantine go any faster, but we might make it a bit funnier.
Laura Jackson Roberts is an environmental writer who grew up in Wheeling. She’s been published in a variety of literary and humor journals and often writes for Weelunk. She serves as a VP for West Virginia Writers and lives with her family in Dimmeydale with host of rescued critters.
Dr. Christina Fisanick is an associate professor of English at California University of Pennsylvania. She has lived in Wheeling for over ten years with her son and two cats. She is the author of more than 30 books and dozens of articles, some of which have appeared in InWheeling, the Intelligencer, and on Weelunk.
