
From Bach To Broadway: Harmonically Exploring The Singing Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph – Dr. Charles A. Julian, PhD (Retired)
During 1964 and 1965, a group of talented women religious from the Sisters of Saint Joseph (in Wheeling) shared their musical gifts by touring in concerts throughout the State of West Virginia and Wheeling Diocese to raise much needed funds for their Order. Hear some of the music that was presented, explore some of the talents that were shared, and meet in person some of the remaining Singing Sisters during this fascinating musical exploration of our musical past.
Presenter: Dr. Charles A. Julian, PhD is a Wheeling native who grew up in both South Wheeling and Warwood (Warwood High School Class of 1971). He earned degrees from Glenville State College, University of Sheffield (England) - on a Rotary International Fellowship, George Peabody College for Teachers at Vanderbilt University, and the Florida State University. Within the field of library and information science, he has taught undergraduate classes, worked in library administration, headed library departments, written grants and proposals, and directed intellectual property efforts [primarily in higher education]. After 42+ years as a library/information professional, Julian retired in 2019 and returned to Wheeling [from West Virginia University, Keyser Campus, WV]. He currently serves as President of the Friends of the Ohio County Public Library.
