13th Annual Awesome Awesome Contest Announced

The Ohio County Public Library Children's Department would like to invite you to participate in our 13th Annual Awesome Creative Writing Contest!

This contest is open to 5th and 6th grade students living in or attending school in Ohio County, West Virginia. 

Entries should adhere to the following:

  • Fictional story (no non-fiction reports please)
  • 250-500 words
  • Story should be typed in 12 pt Times New Roman or handwritten in pencil or ink (blue or black) to make reading and printing easier. 
  • No illustrations. 
  • All entries must have a cover page providing the student's first and last name, grade level, school, teacher's name, and word count. 

Entries must be received by Wednesday, October 26, 2022. Finalists will be notified the week of November 21, 2022. An awards ceremony will be held at 7pm on Thursday, December 1st in the auditorium of the Ohio County Public Library.
