ASL Learning Kits Available at the Library

Language learning provides intellectual stimulation, expands community connections, and numerous personal benefits. Around 3.6% of Americans consider themselves deaf or have serious difficulty hearing, and many of those people partially or fully rely on American Sign Language to communicate. ASL is one of the top languages used in the USA, behind English, Spanish, and Chinese language varieties, so we wanted to provide an easy and fun way for our community to master ASL.

With the new ASL Learning Kits at the Ohio County Public Library, we invite you to join the more than 7 million Americans who use American Sign Language. Every kit includes books, flashcards, as well as fun and interactive elements for experiential learning. We currently have three separate kits geared towards babies, kids/teens, and adults.
