Kids Trick or Treat Week at Story Time and Toddler Time!

Posted 10/19/22

Calendar Event Photo

The Ohio County Public Library will offer indoor trick-or-treating for children the week of October 24th! The activities will follow regular Story Time and Toddler Time programs. Children are encouraged to dress in costume. A parade around the library will take place for children following stories, songs and activities during Story Time or Toddler Time. Library staff members will be at different stations distributing treats to participants.

The indoor trick-or-treat is a great opportunity for those who have not been to Story Time or Toddler Time programs before to come for the first time. Additionally, the parade gives children an opportunity to see different areas of the library and interact with library staff members.

Toddler Times will be held on Monday, October 24th and Friday, October 28th at 10:30am. Monsters Dance will be the featured book at Toddler Time. Story Time will be held on Tuesday, October 25th and Wednesday, October 26th at 10:00am. Monster Needs A Costume will be the featured book at Story Time.

Toddler Time is a fun-filled thirty-minute interactive program that uses rhymes, songs, puppets, musical instruments, and more to stimulate the learning process of babies and toddlers. Toddler Time is based on the early-literacy readiness program "Mother Goose on the Loose," a proven method for planning and presenting programs that focus on the whole child. Toddler Time is held in the Ohio County Public Library Auditorium.

Story Time programs introduce young children to books, rhymes, songs, crafts, and other fun activities. Library Story Times incorporate the early literacy skills that children must master before they can learn to read. Story Times are designed for children 3-5 years old, though all ages are welcome. Story Time is held in the Children's Department.
