Ironically, good genealogy doesn’t begin with a search - it begins with a framework. This session introduces the principles and habits that underpin sound research practice, drawn from the standards that guide the field. We’ll explore what it means to ask a research question that can actually be answered, why not every find is actually proof, and how thinking carefully about the sources we consult changes what we’re able to conclude from them. No experience necessary, just a willingness to build a tree that can weather a storm.
