16th Annual Awesome Author Contest

The Ohio County Public Library Children's Department would like to invite you to participate in our 16th Annual Awesome Author Creative Writing Contest!

This contest is open to 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students living or attending school in Ohio County.

Entries must adhere to the following:

• Fictional story
• 250-500 words
• Handwritten in pencil or ink (blue or black) or typed in 12 pt Times New Roman to make reading and printing easier
• No illustrations
• All entries must have a cover page providing the student's first and last name, grade level, school, teacher's name, and word count

Entries must be received by Friday, January 9,  2026. Finalists will be notified the week of February 3, 2025.  An awards ceremony will be held at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, February 1tth in the auditorium of the Ohio County Public Library.
