In 1907 Kodak introduced an inexpensive process enabling people to make a postcard from any photograph. This allowed amateurs photographers to capture a disaster, fire, flood, or other event while it was happening. In his book, Tony Paree presents an array of amazing early views of Wheeling that might never have existed but for this revolutionary process. In addition to real photo postcards from Tony's own collection, his book features RPPCs from the Museums of Oglebay Institute and our very own Ohio County Public Library Archives.
In addition to being in-person in the Library auditorium, this program will be available to watch live on Facebook Live, on YouTube, and on the OCPL website's LWB Livestream page. Log into your Facebook or YouTube account during the program to leave questions for Tony in the comments box. He will answer them during the live broadcast.

Author's note: "This book was created to share my love of real photo postcards... There is a lot of local Wheeling history contained inside this book with scenes that were once common place but now no longer exist. They have been indefinitely captured on these postcards and I truly hope that you will find a photograph somewhere in this paperback that will make you think, "WOW!" It may be a train, automobile, a family, an event, or simply a memory but whatever it is, please enjoy."
