STORY TIME AT THE LIBRARY: Where Teddy Bears Come From

It's December and we're ready to have a BEARY MERRY CHRISTMAS! Join us for some holiday Story Time fun.

Story Time programs introduce young children to books, rhymes, songs, crafts, and other fun activities. Library Story Time incorporates the early literacy skills that children must master before they can learn to read. Story Times are designed for children 3-5 years old, though all ages are welcome. The program lasts approximately 45 minutes and caregivers are asked to participate with their children. Story Time is held in the Children's Department. This fall, Story Time will also be broadcast online, live, on Tuesdays at 10 am (see below for details).

Today's Toddler Time: For this Berry Merry Story Time, we will read Where Teddy Bears Come From and make a cardboard tube bear craft.

Book Synopsis: Little wolf can't sleep and desperately needs a teddy bear to help. So the next morning, the little wolf sets off to find one. But exactly where do teddy bears come from? The little wolf asks the Wise Owl and the Three Little Pigs, but nobody knows. Finally, the little wolf stumbles upon a kindly man with a bright red suit and a long white beard, and when the little wolf wakes up the next morning there, is a surprise at the foot of his bed...and the answer to his lingering question.
