Awesome Author Creative Writing Contest
The Ohio County Public Library Children's Department would like to invite you to participate in the 14th Annual Awesome Creative Writing Contest!
This contest is open to 5th and 6th grade students living in or attending school in Ohio County, West Virginia.
Entries should adhere to the following:
- Fictional story (no non-fiction reports please)
- 250-500 words
- Story should be handwritten in pencil or ink (blue or black) or typed in 12 pt Times New Roman to make reading and printing easier
- No illustrations
- No Halloween stories
- All entries must have a cover page providing the student's first and last name, grade level, school, teacher's name, and word count
Entries must be received by Friday, October 27, 2023. Finalists will be notified the week of November 20, 2023. An awards ceremony will be held at 7pm on Thursday, November 30th in the auditorium of the Ohio County Public Library.
