Children's Programming  |  Online Resources  |   Follow Us Online

Our collection boasts over 35,000 items including books, magazines, music CDs, DVDs, and more to choose from.  You'll find everything for children from newborn through age twelve as well as for the adults who work and play with them.

The Children's Department of the Ohio County Public Library is the place to read, play, learn, and grow!

Early childhood literacy is important. Children who read regularly exhibit higher activation in areas of the brain that support mental imagery and comprehension of narratives — key skills needed for independent reading comprehension. Library programs have significant positive impacts on early development and help equip children with lifelong learning and literacy skills that help prepare them for school and beyond.
