Central Union Building in Wheeling

Designed by Wheeling architect Charles W. Bates for the newly renamed Central Union Trust Co. (formerly Quarter Savings Bank), the 10-story Central Union and Trust Co. Building was erected in on the former site of the House & Herrmann department store grounds 1925 and opened July 22, 1926.

Following the failure and eventual closing of the bank in 1936, the Union Trust Co. was formed to manage the property. Today the building is part of the Bank Plaza complex of WesBanco.
