Biography: Alonzo Beecher Brooks
Alonso Beecher “A.B.” Brooks (1873-1944) was West Virginia's first game warden and was best known for promoting nature education while serving as naturalist for Oglebay Park. His popular, early-morning bird walks were an educational and social occasion. Brooks founded the Brooks Bird Club and, in 1928, the Nature Leaders Training School, which became Senior Nature Camp.
